Join me and change lives in Guatemala

As far back as I can remember I’ve always been worried. Whether it was worrying that I was having a heart attack, or feeling like I was slipping in and out of reality, controlling my mind and its anxious thoughts has always been a challenge for me. But always, there was something there that helped me through the toughest days: school.

School provided me with a structure that brought me out of my own mind and gave me a place to work together with my peers. More importantly though, school always gave me something to be excited about. In every subject I’ve found something to fall in love with, something that fascinates me and engages my mind in the world around me, rather than letting me stay stuck in my own head.

School has also shown me the value of a strong work ethic. Quite possibly the most valuable thing I learned in school is that no matter what you are doing, if you give it your full effort, you will get something out of it. This has transferred directly to my career as a musician and has helped me find a way to control my anxiety through discipline and hard work. This gift that I’ve received is something I want to help bring to the people of Antigua, Guatemala.

In Antigua, Guatemala, education is not as much of a right as it is a privilege. The net secondary school enrollment rate in all Guatemala is currently 43% and in Antigua specifically, the secondary school graduation rate is less than 10%. I’m trying to raise funds to help support a primary school in Antigua that needs new desks, a new kitchen, and a new auditorium stage. Your donation will help give these kids the same gift I was given: a safe and sufficient school environment, and will hopefully give them the same space to work through any and all problems they might be having. Thank you so much for your donation, and hopefully together we can help change these kids’ lives!

I’ve committed to raising $5,000 towards Medical and Impact Missions in Guatemala. With your support we can change lives.
