Fundraiser Profile
Join Me And Change Lives In Ghana
I’m deeply passionate about joining this mission trip to Ghana—especially after learning about the number of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in the region. This cause is personal to me.
When I was in middle school, I learned that my stepfather had contracted HIV. It wasn’t something I talked about with friends or even extended family, but it was always on my mind. I silently wrestled with questions: Was I at risk by sharing a home with him? Would my mom get sick?

Those years sparked a deep curiosity and concern that led me to learn everything I could about HIV/AIDS. Nearly every research paper I wrote in school focused on the subject. Even now, I don’t often speak about that chapter of my life—but it shaped me. I had the privilege of a roof over my head, consistent meals, and access to medical care. Many of the children we’ll be serving on this trip don’t have those basics. I want to offer more than just help—I want to offer hope. Hope that there’s life beyond hardship, and someone out there who cares.
This mission trip also happens to fall on my birthday. For me, there’s no better way to celebrate than by giving back. Instead of gifts, I’m asking my community to support this effort—to help bring medical care and compassion to those who need it most.

Initially, I saw this trip as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel and contribute to a medical mission. Reflecting on my own journey, I see it as something more: a chance to bring healing, both physical and emotional, to children and families who deserve a fighting chance.
