Join Me And Change Lives In Ghana
This mission trip is deeply personal to me, as it marks my return to a country that captured my heart years ago. I first traveled to Ghana in 2009 as a 19 year-old undergraduate student at UCLA, eager to volunteer at an orphanage and give back in any way I could. During my time in Ghana, I fell in love with the culture and the strength of the people in the face of such limited resources.
When I returned to the states, I made a promise to myself that when I return to Ghana, I want to be able to do more. As an aspiring nursing student at the time, I dreamed of being able to make a greater impact through medicine. Now, as a Certified Nurse Anesthetist, I’m fortunate enough to fulfill that promise through the Osborne Head and Neck Foundation by participating in various surgeries in Ghana. These procedures will improve and forever change the life of individuals and families who otherwise may never have access to such care.
This is a full-circle moment for me—a journey of purpose and giving back. I hope you can be a part of it. Your donation, no matter the size, will help fund these vital surgeries and create a lasting impact on the lives of so many people who face daily challenges that we may never face. - Low spatial access to physicians and health facilities: Long travel distances for many to reach care.
- Inadequate distribution of health personnel: A significant disparity exists between urban and rural areas, with the majority of health personnel concentrated in urban centers.
