Fundraiser Profile
Join Me And Change Lives In Ghana
On my road of life, I’ve encountered plenty of potholes and bumps. But in Ghana, children live through valleys and mountains every day. In Ghana, there are an estimated 170,000 double orphans. In America, most of us are fortunate enough to never learn the term “double orphan”, orphans who have either lost or been abandoned by both of their parents.
I was raised by my mother, a single parent and first-generation immigrant. She worked tirelessly to give me and my younger brother a better life, moving from town to town: from Gardena to North Torrance to South Torrance to Palos Verdes, each move for a better education, moves that forced me to constantly adapt and leave things behind. To say that my entire life has been one big pothole would not be accurate, but I can imagine the hardship of such a life and that only pushes me to help those in developing countries like Ghana who face valleys, to give them a better life the way my mother gave me a better life.

For a long time I’ve felt powerless against this suffering that pains so many across the globe. But through experiences like the Osborne Foundation’s Medical Scholars Program, I have realized that anybody can make a change. Now, I am determined to make a change, to make a meaningful impact through medicine, and I want Ghana, a country where there is around 1 ENT doctor for every 700,000 Ghanaians, to be a part of my journey, along with you.

Together we can change lives. Learn More about your impact.
