Fundraiser Profile
Join me and change lives in Antigua
“The Essence of life is to serve others and do good,” said Aristotle.
This is what I intend to do until I can’t. I could write a long story about why I’ve decided to raise money and go on another mission to Guatemala, but quite frankly, it isn’t a long story. It’s as simple as the quote above. It’s essential to life. The lives in Antigua, Guatemala need our help, so this is where I will serve and make an impact to “do good”.
When I learned that more than half the children in Guatemala never make it past the 6th grade and education is optional, I knew I wanted to help.
Giving to this cause will allow us to make an impact at a local public school, where a simple desk is a luxury. Our team of physicians will be able to provide medical care to many who would otherwise quite possibly need to walk miles to receive a surgical procedure while bringing their own supplies. These are just a couple of the many reasons I ask you to “Do Good”.
Make a donation to the lives of someone in need, someone less fortunate than yourself, someone who needs you and your best efforts.
Take part in the true essence of life and partner with me as we serve others and “DO GOOD.”
I’ve committed to raising $10,000 towards Medical and Impact Missions in Guatemala. With your support we can change lives.
Through annual Medical Missions, we connect expert volunteer surgeons to those suffering in remote areas of developing nations including Ethiopia, the Congo, India and Belize.
In 2021- 2022 we are focused on supporting the people of Guatemala, where 40% of the population does not have access to reliable medical care. The country has made incredible strides to lower poverty, but there is still work to be done.
For one week surgeons and support volunteers will open clinic and surgical center with the goal of helping patients in need. Volunteers who commit to this difficult work pay their own expenses to travel to and stay on each Medial Mission – an incredible testament to their dedication.
Monies raised by the Foundation help support the teams in the field with highly specialized equipment, supplies and instrumentation. We pledge to improve the local facilities we partner with, and never take from a community in need – therefore everything required to perform a staggering range of procedures must be brought to some of the most logistically challenging regions of the world. On average it costs $5,000 per surgeon to provide the necessary supplies to treat a community for the week long journey.
Medical and Impact Missions are 100% funded by donations from supporters like you. We commit to communities with little to no access to medical care, and bring all supplies needed to perform a wide array of medical services.
Your donation is…
- Providing clinical and surgical services, at no cost, to those living in extreme poverty in Guatemala
- Arranging and paying for transportation for patients living in remote villages
- Providing local language experts to eliminate language as a barrier to care
- Securing lodging for patients in the city during treatment and post op care
- Refreshing a school with onsite community works
- Increasing access to educational opportunities for children
