Join Me And Change Lives In Ghana
I want to live a meaningful life and have an impact on the world. To participate in this year’s medical mission to Ghana is to recognize the unique impact such an opportunity holds. I am a person who always strives for self-improvement. I challenge myself because doing so allows me to grow as a person.
I understand that participating in a medical mission to Ghana is no small undertaking. It requires a great deal of commitment and willingness to learn. There is no better environment in which to grow as a person. But beyond my personal growth, traveling to a place where many people are disadvantaged and helping people who need access to medicine is one of the strongest ways to make a hands-on impact.
As someone who is striving for a career in medicine, this kind of experience is invaluable. While I can grasp how important such a mission is in the abstract, there is no way to understand the gravity of one’s impact without seeing it with one’s own eyes.
Participating in this mission will help me to fully know why I have a desire to help those who need it most. With this robust and deeper knowledge, I can move forward in medicine with clearer eyes and a further impassioned mind that will allow me to continue to care for people better and more truly.

- Low spatial access to physicians and health facilities: Long travel distances for many to reach care.
- Inadequate distribution of health personnel: A significant disparity exists between urban and rural areas, with the majority of health personnel concentrated in urban centers.
