Fundraiser Profile

Join me and change lives in Guatemala

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to become a doctor. The decision was greatly influenced by my devotion to math and sciences, as well as growing up seeing my mom actively working in the medical field. Admittedly, I wasn’t aware of the demanding process that career choice would entail; however, I’ve taken time to explore the field and I know now more than ever that my passion is giving back to others, and I want to pursue that through the medical field.

Last summer, I was given the great honor of being a member of the Osborne Head and Neck Foundation’s Medical Scholars Program. This program gave me clinical experience that not many students have the opportunity to encounter during their high school years. Along with being able to scrub into several surgeries, I gained skills in suturing, knot tying, and utilizing surgical microscopes.

To advance my knowledge of the medical field past the clinical standpoint, I’ve participated in two public health internships. After these internships, I found my eyes opened not only to the disparities present in the medical field for minorities but also the lack of attention given to this sector of the medical field.

I now have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of the Osborne Head and Neck Foundation’s 2022 Medical Mission to Guatemala City, Guatemala. On the mission, our goal is not only to provide medical attention to individuals who need it most but to also sponsor and provide resources for children at the Hogar Shalom Orphanage. Supporting this fundraising effort will truly help change lives for the better.

I’ve committed to raising $10,000 towards Medical and Impact Missions in Guatemala. With your support we can change lives.
