Hello, my name is Aimee Galicia Torres
I am a documentary filmmaker and humanitarian.

About Aimee:

Aimee Galicia Torres was born and raised in Southern California and is the first generation of two Filipino Immigrant parents. At an early age, her dream was to be a film director and create films that inspire and brought change. With 18 years of experience as a Cinematographer, for the last 6 years, Aimee has been directing and shooting a medical docuseries called the “OHNI Case Files.”

OHNI Case Files is a medical docuseries and tv show. Based on the stories of the Osborne Head and Neck Institute, OHNI Case Files depicts the experiences of a highly-specialized team of head and neck surgeons. Real-time footage includes complex surgery, compelling patient stories, international missions, and the human experience, shown through the eyes of this exceptional surgical team.

Aimee is an active voting member for the Documentary Peer Category for the TV Academy as well as an associate member of the Society of Camera Operators. Aimee shares a passion for filmmaking and humanitarian work. She has been on four international medical missions, Belize, India, Peru, and Guatemala, documenting the stories of patients with the Osborne Head and Neck Foundation. In her spare time, she volunteers as a therapy dog handler with her dog Laney visiting hospitals, schools, and retirement homes.

Aimee’s motivation:

When I was 12 years old, I was vacationing with my family in the Philippines for Christmas break. Out of nowhere, my dad was hospitalized. We were set to return early to the states so that my dad could continue his medical care.  The day we were supposed to leave, my dad passed unexpectedly. I realized early in life what it’s like to not have the necessary medical care available.

Growing up, I’ve always dreamed about working and making films for a living. It is a passion of mine to not only create films, but to make films that inspire and bring about change. By going to these medical missions I’m able to tell the stories of normal people doing extraordinary things. It has been an honor to be able to participate by utilizing my craft to give back.

I’ve committed to raising $4,000 towards Medical and Impact Missions in Guatemala. With your support we can change lives.
