Location, Location, Location

Sustainability: Securing a home for those in need of low and no cost medical services will reduce the Foundation’s operating costs long into the future, and provide opportunities to generate revenue for programs with onsite medical partnerships.

Surgical Care: The onsite CARE Surgery Center will provide stable access to an operating room, dramatically increase the number of patients we are able to serve, while a portion of the their profits annually will be donated to Foundation’s surgical grants program.

Patient Lodging: Over 85% of our patients travel 300 miles or
more for medical services. With accommodations onsite, patients and their loved ones can stay close to treatment options, and remove housing as a financial obstacle to seeking care.

Education: Health screenings will empower our patients to make timely medical decisions, and expanded youth training programs will give hands on experience to a new generation of doctors and community leaders.

A Letter
From Our Founder

I am ecstatic to announce the next bold step in our story

For the first time in the Foundation’s history, our life-changing head and neck services will have a permanent home.

We are embarking on building a medical and community center in Westchester, CA that will improve the quality of life for our patients in need, expand affordable medical services, and support our community programs.

Over the past 13 years we have grown from a small group of volunteers helping patients navigate cancer treatment options, to an organization that provides a range of clinical, surgical and humanitarian care for people most in need – all because of supporters like you.

Building a home of our own is a milestone we can all be proud of, and now is the time to act. With the rising costs of medical care and economic uncertainty, more people than ever are relying on the Foundation.

This project will create a sustainable path to continue helping our community long into
the future, and pave the way to increase capacity for patient services by 75%.

With room to grow, we will strengthen our housing grants program, a critical component to our services. Over 85% of our patients seeking care travel 300 miles or more to reach the Foundation.

This alone puts a financial hardship on many low income families. We have tackled this issue with housing grants, designed to reimburse a portion of hotel expenses for qualifying candidates, but it isn’t enough.

Having onsite lodging is a major advancement in the way we run this program. It will remove a common obstacle to treatment for many patients, and have the added benefit of placing patients near their care.

You can quickly see how a space of our own allows the Foundation to reimagine programming, and create new ways to stabilize costs, while expanding critical access to services.

Community education and health screenings will also expand. As a core value, we believe in giving our community a better understanding of their health. Providing information to help patients make timely decisions that maintain or improve their quality of life is an important factor to any treatment.

With a space of our own we will have the ability to host these activities ourselves, no longer relying on outside organizations to accommodate us. At the heart of our plan to build a medical and community center is the opportunity to be close to other like minded organizations who share our vision to responsibly help those in need.

With our move, CARE Surgical Center has committed to providing the Foundation access to their operating room. This partnership will reduce our current wait times for surgical services, and drastically increasing the number of patients we can help annually.

A home also means our youth programing for high school students will be able to grow beyond current capacity and provide hands on experiences in medicine and leadership to a new generation. The Foundation will make the next leap in community development and sustainable patient care with this fundamental step in our evolution, and we want you to be a part of it.

Dream with us, and join in building a future where everyone has access to the medical care they need, and a place to go when there is nowhere else to turn.
